Triumph TR6 1973 entered into July 25th Classic Car Auction

I went to Dursley and met the charming couple who have owned this TR6 since ’91. She does not pretend to be concours, but what a lovely car to use and enjoy. As said, she was purchased in ’91 and had already been off the road for 5 years and the vendor, who has a masters degree in mechanical engineering, involved the whole family in totally restoring her. Comprehensive photographic record of the re-build, she had new front wings, door skins, mechanically she had a Bosch high pressure pump fitted, front shock absorbers, new clutch, exhaust and overhaul of the brakes and later a new solenoid for the O.D. She was taken back to the bare metal and sprayed. The mileage when purchased was 70K and now reads 76K. I can’t prove it but it looks as though it could be right. She was last MOT’d in ’99 and put into dry storage at home and started once a month or so. The engine sounds fantastic, and the vendor adds the engine is excellent mechanically. She looks good and is very good value. Only 8000 or so models were sold in the UK. Road tests in that period gave 0-60 in 8.2 seconds, top speed 120 mph.
