Finished in black with grey leather trim.<\/p>\n<p>Condition: 1 Estimated sale price; \u00a36,000 &#8211; \u00a36,900<\/p>\n<h3>Sold for \u00a37,208.<\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.swva.co.uk\/classic-car-auction-catalogue\/\">View the entries in our\u00a0upcoming\u00a0classic car auction.<\/a><\/p>\n<h2>Additional information on the Porsche 968<\/h2>\n<p>&#8220;The 968 was powered by an updated version of the 944&#8217;s\u00a0straight-4\u00a0engine, now displacing 3.0\u00a0L with 104\u00a0mm bore, 88\u00a0mm stroke and producing 240\u00a0PS\u00a0(236\u00a0hp\/177\u00a0kW). Changes to the 968&#8217;s\u00a0powertrain\u00a0also included the addition of Porsche&#8217;s then-new\u00a0VarioCam\u00a0variable valve timing\u00a0system, newly optimized induction and\u00a0exhaust systems, a dual-mass flywheel, and updated engine management electronics among other more minor revisions. The 968&#8217;s engine was the second-largest 4-cylinder\u00a0ever offered in a\u00a0production car\u00a0up to that time. A new 6-speed\u00a0manual transmission\u00a0replaced the 944&#8217;s old 5-speed, and Porsche&#8217;s dual-mode\u00a0Tiptronicautomatic\u00a0became an available option. Both the VarioCam timing system and Tiptronic transmission were very recent developments for Porsche. The Tiptronic transmission had debuted for the first time ever only 3 years prior to the debut of the 968, on the 1989\u00a0Type 964\u00a0911. The VarioCam timing system was first introduced on the 968 and would later become a feature of the Type 993 air-cooled six-cylinder engine.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Source: <a
