Description:This is an American car imported to the UK by Thornfalcon Garage in Taunton who converted the steering and pedal box to UK spec. The vendor purchased the car in August 1999 from a gentleman in Sussex. The body of the car was taken off the chassis and repainted, new brake pipes and hoses fitted, all steering joints checked and replaced where necessary, spring bushes replaced, front and rear shock absorbers re conditioned. The carburettors have been refurbished, oil system filter converted to take modern type. Electric fan fitted for cooling system. Cylinder head modified by “Classic Sports Cars LTD” for unleaded petrol. The gearbox has been changed to a Ford 5 speed. New master cylinder and brake hoses recently fitted. The rear suspension has been modified to accept “Koni” shock absorbers. A Moss modifiction. Rear dampers and “Andrex” in storage compartment. Unfortunately all receipts, history and paperwork were lost during a house move. Auctioneers notes: 13 old MOTs from 2000 when the mileage was 27,204 to now when the mileage is 56,532 plus operation manual. Please note this car is a rare MKII which was sold in limited numbers. The MKII was really intended for competition use only. The rare TD MKII was fitted with larger valves in the cylinder head, twin 1 1/2 carbs (the TD 2 had 1 1/4 carbs), twin fuel pumps and additional Andrex friction dampers. She is in beautiful condition and finished in original Clipper Blue. Can be viewed by appointment. |
