This MK IX Jaguar automatic has power steering and disc brakes. The heritage certificate 45415 confirms it is a matching number car. A letter from the previous owner a retired garage proprietor purchased this car in 1979 at 51,000 miles from an American gentleman who kept the car in the west of Ireland to be used for two months of the year.

Over his 37-year ownership he had the lower part painted making it a two tone colour green, he rust proofed the underbody, the wood worked was restored, the gearbox was overhauled, the timing chain and tensioners were replaced along with a new petrol pump installed, replaced tyres and added a stainless steel exhaust. Recent work includes; new screen rubbers front and rear along with a boot re-trim. Being an Irish car it was never subject to salt on the roads and was kept in a motor house when not being used. It is very much a survivor car rather than one that has been freshly and overly restored.

I am the 3rd owner of the car and have been for approximately 6 years. I bought the car in 2016 at SWVA with 65,000 WARRANTED miles on the clock to enjoy and take to classic car shows. I have replaced the disc brake calipers on all four wheels, brake hoses and pipes with a new master cylinder. Some old parts are in the boot of the vehicle for the next owner. Carburettors have been overhalued. The green leather seats, carpets, headlining and woodwork are all in excellent condition. Chrome, bodywork and chassis are very good. Engine, gearbox and axle all very good. The car comes complete with large tools in the boot and two sets of small tools in the front door along with original handbook and other documents relating to this car.

This is, without doubt. one of the nicest Jaguar Mark IX I have had the pleasure to see.  The vendor has owned this lovely car for 6 years and has given an excellent write-up.  There is nothing else to add other than to say that she is a real beauty and to satisfy the technically minded, this famous XK 3.8 engine produces 220 bhp and can launch the car from 0 – 60 in 8.9 seconds, and where it is legal she is able to obtain a top speed of just under 120 mph.  Please book your slot to come and view this superb car.
