Description:Auctioneer’s notes: The Provenance of this FANTASTIC car is second to none. She only has had 3 owners from new. The vendor bought the car on 10.4.97. She was supplied by Reeve & Stedeford (Daimler Main Agents) and in the files you will find a letter from a Mr. MacKinon who worked for the supplying agents from 1961 to his retirement in 2011. – see appendix 1, it makes interesting reading. This car has undergone a complete restoration – the body was removed from the chassis – and shot-blasted and dipped before painting and repairs were carried out, as necessary. The mechanical components of the car were completely overhauled and the rear suspension was fitted with anti tramp bars. The brakes have all new parts including copper pipes. The back axle was stripped and rebuilt, the steering box was changed to a rack and pinion system, the cylinder heads were removed, checked and re-assembled and fitted, a new starter motor and a new dynamo replaced the original. All this work was carried out by a very respected SP250 Specialist – the company is called AutoTech of Hurst. There are photographs and a Memory Stick in the file, which incidentally, is massive. It includes all invoices for the work carried out. The total spent on this beautiful car is eye-watering. She also underwent a re-trim and a new hood has been fitted. Incidentally, the owner had the car checked and serviced on 19.7.22 and it has a current MOT to 18.7.23. SP250 enthusiasts must come and inspect this unique car and paperwork.
