Description:Description from The Vendor: Just returned to the road after forty years! EWV 881D was born at Ford’s Dagenham plant in January 1966. Finished in Lagoon Blue (correct CJ paint code) she is the Deluxe model and was fitted with the 1200cc Pre-cross flow unit. We know that the she was off the road in the late seventies when DVLC implemented their new-fangled computer system as the original registration number had to be applied for around twenty years ago (V5 shows first registration in 2002). We also know that she was “given” to Thurrock College where she lay in storage for many years. In 1998 a gentleman from Essex, was attending night school classes in the motor section at Thurrock College and noticed EWV 881D sitting in a corner of the workshop. He offered to buy the car and a price was agreed with the college (receipt for this purchase is present) He subsequently spent twenty two years restoring the car, putting a huge amount of time and money in to renewing pretty much everything! Around 2021 he decided that he was getting too old to work on her and reluctantly sold the car before the restoration was complete. She was bare-metal repainted around 20 years ago, the lovely period Lagoon blue still has a deep shine. The underside of the car is exceptional the floors have never been welded. The extensive chrome-work strips to the sides are in nice condition as are the grille, headlight rims and the wheel trims. The rear bumper has been re-chromed and shines brightly. The interior is lovely. The door cards are in fabulous condition. Likewise the seats are good with only one small split on the passenger seat and a nice patina. She has her rare original rubber floor mat which is unmarked (no carpet here thank you!!) The boot area has the original vinyl load-bay-mat is in great condition. The engine bay has been detailed, the inner wings and bulkhead have been refinished in Lagoon blue, rocker cover and air filter have been re-finished and the overall finish while not Concours is certainly good enough to show the car with the bonnet up! The engine fires instantly and runs sweetly and revs freely. All gears select smoothly. The odometer shows 6339 miles but this cannot be warranted. There are some photographs of the restoration, a handbook and some invoices. There is a V5 in my name. A unique opportunity to own a very rare car that has not been on the road for the last 40 years in exceptional condition for its age.
