Description:Description from The Vendor: My husband, Stan bought this car in October 2006, it was almost an impulse buy as it was only a few weeks previous that he had driven a friend’s RV8. We were living in Cheshire & were members of the Potteries & South Cheshire MGOC. With the club, we regularly went to car shows & trips out organised by club members. One couple arranged a trip to Glendalough in County Wicklow where we took part in a charity run organised by a local MG club. The ‘big trip’ was to Itter in the Tirol, Austria with friends, who also had an RV8, driving through France & Germany. Once there we went out each day exploring the area & getting quite a lot of attention. Unfortunately, Stan passed away in July 2011, club members organised a possession of MG’s led by my son-in-law driving Stan’s car. I moved back to Cornwall in October 2014 & although I had thought of selling it the RV8 came with me. Still undecided about what I was doing with the car I joined the Cornwall MGOC, a great bunch of people who have looked after me. With the club, I have been on three ‘weekends away with my sister joining me. The 1st was to Stratford, the 2nd to Minehead & the 3rd to Dorchester. I had power steering fitted by Clive Wheatley which has made the car much easier for me to drive. The reason I am now selling is because I don’t have the time to look after it as it deserves but driving it up to Poole I almost changed my mind!!!
Auctioneer’s notes: The vendor has decided to sell this car which she has owned, with her husband, for 16 years. Sadly, he passed away some years back. The lady has given a comprehensive and full description and all I will add is the technical spec. These V8 engines produce 188 HP which propel her from 0 – 60 in 5.9 seconds and she has a top speed of 135 mph. Please book your slot and come and view this superb example of an RV8. |
