Description:Description from The Vendor: I have owned this car now for just over 2 years and have driven a minuscule 331 miles in that time. In the history file you will find a letter from the second owner regarding the change of engine and transmission. The engine was converted to an earlier Ford Essex 3.0L V6 and the transmission was changed from auto to a 4 speed manual box with overdrive (The V5C still states the car is an auto, however, this is not the case.) These changes took place between 1980 – 1986. The mileage is reputed and seems OK, but there is some thousand miles worth of proof missing. The first MOT certificate from 1995 shows 44,502 miles and a letter from 1980 states the mileage as 15,000.
Auctioneer’s notes: This car is outrageously in good condition, it is superb. She has undergone a complete body of chassis restoration, details on file. The file is very comprehensive from 1995 through to the present day but there is a gap between 01 and 2014 that is when the car was put in store. There is correspondence, see appendix 1 and a very nice letter written in 2015 by the gentleman who owned this car in 1979. In and around 2014 the restoration took place and she was next MOTed in 2016. You will also find a complete record of owners from the DVLA and there are also old MOT’s from ’95, and for those who like to tinker with their cars you have a Workshop Manual, Handbook and an original Spare Parts Catalogue from the factory. There are spare keys and she comes with a jack and wheel brace and some odd spanners. It is worth noting that these cars are all hand built at the factory and Princess Ann had one and we believe she still owns it. There were an expensive motorcar having a steel chassis and a fibreglass body. These GTE’s are genuine 4 seater sports estate cars and for those of you who are technically minded she is fitted with a 3 lit V6 engine giving plenty of go 0 – 60 in 8.5 seconds, top speed 121 mph.
