Lot No: 16
Year Make Model Mileage SOLD FOR
1971 Rover P6 2000 SC 51,743 (Not Warranted) £500 + buyers premium

Description:

On the Surface: This is a 1971 Rover 2000 SC finished in Zircon Blue that is now in need of restoration work. It has some wear and tear like rust on the two front and one rear wing, however, replacement parts are provided in the back seats.

Maintenance: As mentioned previously this car is a project, with the wings requiring replacement. To add to the work needing to be done the clutch gave way when we were collecting the vehicle and now also needs replacing. Despite these issues, the underneath of the car has been cleaned and treated with underseal to prevent rust, and it has never been welded.

History: Bought in 2022 with the plan to fix it up, the current owner can no longer fulfil this intention. The car comes with a lot of old documents like MOT certificates, tax discs, and invoices, which add up to around £3,500. There are also some old Rover workshop books.

The Model: The Rover P6 series (named as the 2000, 2200, or 3500, depending on engine displacement) was produced by Rover and subsequently British Leyland from 1963 to 1977. The Rover 2000 was a completly new design in the Rover range intended to appeal to a larger number of buyers than earlier models such as the P4 it replaced.

Sale Insight: This 1971 Rover 2000 SC is sold as a project. It needs work, but replacement parts are included, and the underside is said to be in good condition. The car comes with a history file that includes old documents, making it a great opportunity for a enthusiast to bring this classic back to life.
