Description from The Vendor:

This lovely old Rover was purchased new by Sir James Farmer Norton and first registered on 6th March 1963. An extensive history file accompanies the car and includes the original buff log book, the service booklet as issued to the car from new, a genuine Rover 95/110 instruction manual and a list of all previous owners. Also in the file are tax discs dating back to 1994, old MoT’s, service & parts receipts plus numerous other items relating to the car.

Finished in attractive Pine Green paintwork with good brightwork.

The interior is exceptionally good being trimmed with a recently fitted new carpet set throughout. This car is has the rare optional extra lay-back individual front seats and matching light green rear bench seat, the leather on all seats is in excellent condition, as is the remainder of the interior. The all important original toolkit is also still with the car.

This 95 certainly benefits from having been well maintained, recent work carried out includes, new rear leaf springs – new front brake callipers & discs – new front king pins & bearings – new front tyres – new SU twin fuel pump. The engine received a de-coke and new head gasket approx 1000 miles ago.

Driving this solid old Rover is a truly pleasurable experience, the smooth and powerful 6 cylinder engine is easily able to maintain motorway speeds often to the surprise of slower moving traffic !

Auctioneer’s notes:

These P’4s were designed by Gordon Bashford as a mid-size luxury saloon car and they are affectionately known as Auntie.  They have an incredibly well equipped interior, superb leather upholstery, Wilton Style carpets and good woodwork..  They are renowned for their very smooth and quiet engine.  This is due partly to the 7 bearing crankshaft in the engine and the capacity is 2625cc giving a 102 bhp and a top speed over 90 mph.  In the papers you will find a Rover 95 Instruction Manual, various Rover magazines and hand books.  There are a number of invoices, I pick out a few, one was for a  complete brake overhaul, another for a replacement clutch and the last one is for a complete set of carpets and door cards.  There are other invoices for general upkeep for the car. She also has an original tool kit..This is a very good example, please book your slot to view her
