On the Surface: This is a fantastic example of a 1986 Volkswagen Scirocco GT. Presented in a white finish with a grey cloth interior. The Type 2 GT particularly emphasises the sporty profile characteristic of the Scirocco lineup. Maintenance & History: Owned by the current custodian since June 2012, it comes with a decent history file, featuring MOT certificates from 2012 when it wa sput into dry storage dating back to 1990 when the car was just 4 years old. The odometer currently displays a mere 52,365 miles whcih is beleived to be correct, however, due to the absence of history in it’s first 4 years of life we cannot guarantee the accuracy. The Model: Manufactured and first registered in the UK in 1986, this GT is the second generation of the Scirocco which was produced from 1981 to 1992. Designed by Volkswagen’s in-house team, this version boasted enhanced headroom, increased luggage capacity, and a sleek aerodynamic profile. The GT variant, introduced in 1982, blended performance with practicality, featuring a 1.6-litre engine producing around 75bhp, coupled with a 4 + E gearbox for (E for ecomonic cruising).
