Aston Martin V8 1973

Description:

In 1972, after the sale of Aston Martin to “Company Developments” a facelift version of the DBS V8 was put into production. Now known as the AMV8, the cars manufactured before August 1973 retained the Bosch mechanical fuel injection system.
This AM V8 was registered on 17/04/1973 and was purchased by the vendor on 09/01/1986 when the mileage was 62,860. He used the vehicle, covering less than 9000 miles, until 20 years ago when he and his family moved to France. The car was left parked up in their garage in England and “forgotten about” buried under storage boxes. It remained in the garage until November 2017 when it was unearthed and entered into our auction.

The car will run although it did take some turning over of the engine probably due to ditry fuel etc, however we are selling the vehicle as a non runner. The vendor does state it will probably need some new plugs as it is running rich. The fuel tank was removed, cleaned and treated before we collected it. The brakes will also require attention.
The mileage of 71,680 on this vehicle is most probably genuine however we cannot warrant it as there is unfortunately no history. The plate shown on the car 958 DUG is not included in the sale.

Auctioneers notes: These AM V8’s retained the Bosch fuel injection and late modifications. From August 1973 they had 4 twin choke Weber carbs. These cars are quick, 310BHP and 0-60 in 5.7 seconds.

AMENDMENT : The vendor has since found some paperwork relating to the vehicle including MOTs as follows: 1984 52,994 miles, 1989 63,000 miles, 1990 66,598 miles, 1994 66,954 miles, 1996 68,3908 miles, 1998 70,628 miles, 2010 71,626 miles. Also a manual, spec sheet and a few invoices.
