1956 | Austin | A30 | 10,200 (Not Warranted) | £6,500 - £7,500 | |
Description:Description from The Vendor: The original owner of the A30 died and left it to his daughter. Two garages muscled in for the car and the daughter eventually sold it to a John Barratt Atkin who recommissioned the A30 after it had been stored for some 50 years. He did a lot of work on it including changing the Solex carbs for SU’s and that has improved the performance of the car and I must say it is a very good performer now. Parts changed:
I road-tested the vehicle for 100 miles and a satisfactory result was obtained. Click here to see a letter from the previous owner of the vehicle to warrant the mileage.
Auctioneer’s notes: Although this outstanding Austin A30 comes with a letter confirming the mileage of 10,000 miles written by the previous owner, we think that it is prudent not to warrant it for lack of other history. We are told that the car was stored for 50 years. I have no doubt that this mileage could be correct – look at the beading on the front wings and the condition of the seats and door cards which are in first class order, plus there is no wear on the pedals – Come and view, strictly by appointment and make up your own minds. |
