1951 | Austin | A40 Sports GD2 | 65,220 (Not Warranted) | £13,600 + buyers premium | |
Description:Description from The Vendor: It appears there is only 3 early A40 GD2’s left so we believe this car to be quite rare. The chassis is in very good condition along with the paintwork, chrome work and trim. The car has a Riley 1500cc engine and gearbox. Auctioneer’s notes: I think, the vendor has said it all and I like the upgrades of fitting a Riley 1.5 engine and gear box. There is a immense amount of paperwork including invoices and a treasure trove of original manuals and you will also find a 1952 copy of Motorsport which features a road test of an A40 Sports. There even is a letter from the Austin Motor Company to the Colonel (the first owner) and there are lubrication charts, wiring diagrams and a huge file of invoices, old MOT’s and tax discs. This is a very interesting car with excellent providence. She may be viewed, strictly by appointment. |
