Bentley T1 1975

Description:

This Bentley T1 was sold new to an English gentleman in March 1975 by H.R Owen in London. The vendor then purchased the vehicle from H.R Owen in March 1981 and has owned it ever since. When he purchased the car in 1981 the mileage was 23,722. On advice of Flying Spur it went to their workshop in late 2008 where it stayed for a period of 18 months during which time a lot of restoration work was carried out, all invoices included in the file. The car was sent back to them again in 2012 for its 120,000 miles service. In total work carried out on the car between 2008 and 2012 totals £25,600.
Also included in the file is the original book pack, handbooks and service book containing stamps from 1975 at 2824 miles to 1986 at 42,436 miles.
This vehicle is registered in Ireland, it has been NOVA’d and will require registration in the UK by the purchaser.

Auctioneers Notes: We are proud at SWVA to be able to offer this Bentley, having only had 2 owners from new,  in our October Sale.  The vendor, who is a highly respected gentleman in the Irish Republic, very well-known in the horse racing world and he is the founder of the first commercial radio station in the Republic.  He has owned this car since 1981, in all 37 years.  Since the details were posted on our website, we have received in the post a massive amount of new paperwork, including MOT records from 4/81 mileage 23.722 to 3/99 mileage 92,904 (13 cert.) Also included is a file full of letters between H.R. Owen Ltd and Rolls Royce Cars to the vendor and would you believe it, he had an AA inspection carried out at H.R. Owen Ltd – the original AA inspection report is included with the letters. Loads of invoices have come to light, altogether it makes very interesting reading.  This car is not concourse but very usable with excellent providence.  May be viewed by appointment.
