Description:

In Brief:

  • Restored by previous owner in 2020
  • Imported to UK in 1994
  • Great example of iconic 500
  • Offered with V5C and Fiat 500 ‘Shop Manual’

On the Surface: This is a great example of the iconic 500L. Finished in white and complemented by a black vinyl interior. This car was imported to the UK in May 1994 and was restored by its previous owner. The car comes complete with a V5 document and the Fiat 500 ‘Shop Manual’.

The Model: The Nuova (New) 500 launched in July 1957. Born as an affordable and practical city car, it became a successor to the 500 “Topolino” and a pioneer in purpose-designed urban mobility. The 500L variant, introduced in September 1968, marked a more refined and richly appointed evolution of the standard 500F.

Measuring a mere 2.97 meters in length and originally powered by a rear-mounted 479 cc two-cylinder, air-cooled engine, the Fiat 500L represents the epitome of compact efficiency. The 500L differs from the older 500F with distinct design features such as tubular guards on the front and rear bumpers as well as chrome plastic mouldings covering the roof drip rails, redesigned hubcaps, bright trim around the windscreen and rear window and a slightly elongated frame which is about 6 cm longer than the 500F.

Sale Insight: For those seeking an iconic classic, this 1971 Fiat 500L offers exactly that. These 500’s are as renowned and recognisable as other icons such as the Mini. A fantastically restored example.
