1966 Ford Corsair Crayford GT 77,858 (Not Warranted) £10,900 + buyers premium

Description:

1 of 7 cars from the Thornton Estate

In Brief:

  • Incredibly rare genuine GT Crayford Convertible
  • Just 4 former keepers
  • Recently completed work has been undertaken to unseize the brakes
  • Great example finished in Pale Blue

On the Surface: This is a very rare example of a 1966 Ford Corsair Crayford GT. Finished in Pale Blue and complemented by a White tonneau fold back roof.

Maintenance & History: This Corsair Crayford GT comes with a decent amount of paperwork. Included in the paperwork is a list of parts that have been installed, however, there is no indication of when the work was completed. The list of new parts includes a full clutch kit, new brake components and electrical upgrades. This car is one of seven cars to be sold from the Thornton estate. The late Mr Thornton bought this car in March 2009 and it resided in his collection since. Prior to his ownership, the car resided on the Isle of Wight, as revealed by an advertisement in the file.

The Model: A rare find indeed, this Corsair Crayford is one of approximately 100 convertibles allegedly ever produced, and it is made even rarer by the fact that it is a genuine GT. This example is powered by the later 1998cc V4 GT engine, as opposed to the earlier 1500cc and 1700cc engines.

Sale Insight: This 1966 Ford Corsair Crayford GT presents a very rare opportunity for enthusiasts and collectors to purchase one the most sought after and desirably specced Ford models on the market.
