Sadly, yet again, this remarkable car has only come to market because of the passing of the owner.  The car is now registered in his wife’s name.  Her husband was a renowned engineer and he continued to service and look after her.  In fact, he was in the middle of working on the calipers of the rear brakes when his health deteriorated and he passed away, HENCE this car is sold without brakes. This beautiful car was reported to have undergone a total restoration in 1991 and in 2007 when BCA sold her, they said in their catalogue that she has only covered 3300 miles since ’91 and the speedometer was reading 61,000, now reading 68,213.  You will notice that the MOT’s show very little mileage from ’91 till the present day.  In the car’s history file you will find a copy of the original logbook, showing the first owner was a titled gentleman.  By the way, the -8 on the engine number denotes that she has an 8 to 1 compression ratio.  Also in the file, there is a Jaguar Heritage Certificate No 5729 and she was supplied by Henlys of London.   Now to the invoices, there is a comprehensive file of invoices from 1991 – 2014 (the MOT issued in 2014 shows the mileage at 66,305) in all there are 29 invoices including one for fitting in 2013 POWER ASSISTED STEERING at a cost of £2128.63.  This unique car may be viewed, strictly by appointment.
