Description:This little car has an amazing history file. The first owner cherished it for 32 years, and kept a detailed log of fastidious maintenance, with dates, mileages , and every penny spent. This runs to eight foolscap pages! It also has MOT certificates from 1992 to the present, all of which show the low mileage to be correct. In addition there is an original handbook, lots of receipts, the undersealing certificate, and details of the protective re-treatments (last done in 1983). All numbers match, the engine runs beautifully, the interior is original, with just the front carpet missing. The paintwork and bodywork is presentable, but there are some areas which could be improved. It had a new rear subframe in 1993, and both front and rear subframes are still in good order. Off the road for about 4 years, it’s recently been recommissioned, with new clutch slave and master cylinders, new fuel pump, track rod ends, two new tyres, and tracking. Since the recent MOT one of the o/s/f brake cylinders has started to weep so this will need sorting before it’s driven at speed. Otherwise it’s ready to go, and does drive very well (as you would expect from a well maintained 54,000 mile car). A delightfully genuine original Mk3 mini with a super history and warranted low mileage. Auctioneers notes: How often do you see these low mileage Mini’s? This is a little cracker. |
