Description:Description from The Vendor: Bereavement brings this Morris Minor for sale by auction. The last owner was a historic enthusiast and also a member of the Morris Minor Owners Club so stayed away from a more modern vehicle. The car has been in storage for quite a while but to bring it up to the auction it started the first time.
Auctioneer’s notes: Launched at the 1948 London Motor Show, these revolutionary cars, designed by Alex Issigonis, have monocoque constructed bodies, independent torsion bar front suspension and rack and pinion steering and the interior had leather trim. She is powered by a 9.18 cc side valve engine producing a staggering 27.5 BHP and they could obtain a top speed of just over 60 miles per hour. This example looks to me mostly original in the sense that the beading between the wings and the body and the patina of the paint look untouched. This car is 70 years old and she wears her age well. The dilemma is, do you use her as is or do you restore her? In my opinion these 2-door side valve Minors known as the lowlamp Minors are very rare today and I believe, this one deserves to be restored. Structually, she is very sound and not a rust bucket. May be viewed, strictly by appointment.
