Morris Minor Convertible 1964

This Morris Minor has been known by the vendor since 1970 when it belonged to his college friend. In around 1974/5 the vendor and his father purchased it as an MOT failure from his friend who had just bought another car. It was stored in the vendor’s father’s garage and worked on, on and off, for the following 5 years or so until it was put back on the road in 1980. The vendor returned to Bath in 1983 to go back to university and became more involved with the cars maintenance. The vendor’s father ran it as a summer car until 2004 when he decided he should not drive it anymore and the vendor and his wife took over ownership in 2005. He then began to do a complete mechanical rebuild including the engine, gearbox, suspension, brakes, ignition and carb and clutch. Over the next few MOTs significant welding was completed on all major “fail areas”. The vendor’s wife has run the car as a summer car from then until 2012. The car was then dry stored on axle stands until last year, during which time the vendors spent some time away and it was back onto the road for summer 2015. The vendor and his wife state that they are moving on and as the next generation don’t want it they feel it is time to part company.
The car comes with loads of parts, some new, some spare. The old MOTs give a good record of the mileage since 1988 when it was reading 23,920 until the current one which reads 45,900 and as the previous owner only used the vehicle around bath, although it cannot be guaranteed, the mileage is assumed to be correct. This car could be used as it is or would make a good winter project.
