Description:Description from The Vendor: I bought the car in 2006 with 90,000 miles on the clock. I believe the car has restoration in the 1990s and it was one of the last Riley’s built in Coventry before the company moved to Abindgdon alongside MG. Riley continued to build the RM model until 1955 where it then became the pathfinder with the full influence of BMC.
Auctioneer’s notes: 1949 Riley RMB 2.5 lit has been entered by the vendor who has owned her for 16 years. This is a stunning car, beautiful interior, bright paintwork (1 or 2 little blemishes) excellent chrome. This very interesting car is 73 years old and it is interesting to see she has a buff logbook and also a green logbook and in the file there are countless invoices. Although she does not require an MOT she has been MOT’d every year since 2006, the present MOT which expires on 2.4.23 plus the invoices shows to me that she has been well looked after. These 2.5 lit Rileys can keep up with modern traffic, their top speed is 90 miles per hour. This fine example may be viewed strictly by appointment. |
