1961 Rover 100 P4 50,027 (Not Warranted) £4,250 + buyers premium

Description:

Description from The Vendor:

First registered on the 15th December 1961 on the South Coast. This P4 100 has the wonderful 6 cylinder 2625cc engine which along with a 4 speed and overdrive box, making for a strong, smooth and luxurious driving experience. The 100 was considered by many to be the ultimate development of the P4 Rover. It has the original leather seats, which when you enter the car smell wonderful. The carpets have virtually no wear and were replaced 4 years ago. The chrome work was all dechromed before I bought it and is near perfect. The interior woodwork was lacquered 5 years ago and is in tip-top condition.
To cope with the performance from the engine it is fitted with servo assisted front disc brakes. It can easily cope with motorway speeds in modern traffic and has a top speed of 95mph. The car stops as well as it goes, is an instant starter, even on the coldest of winter days. I have owned it for 8 years and apart from one trip down to the Charente Maritime in France, it has been used locally for shopping, fun days out to the coast, and the occasional local Classic Car Show. It comes with a lot of paperwork, a full tool kit a spare wheel, a workshop manual, and a lot of P4 Drivers Guild magazines.

A lot of historic stuff mainly relating to restoration and respray 2011/12.
Recently it has had an engine out, decoke upper cylinder, new rear crankshaft oil seal kit installed, electronic ignition, new clutch, new silencer box.

Auctioneer’s notes:

Rover 100, owned by the vendor for 8 years.  This is a great introduction to classic motoring.  These Rover 100’s were built to a very high standard.  A lot of the panels are aluminum.  As the estimate indicates, this car is for using and improvement over the winter months.  There is a good size file with her, with old V5’s and V5C’s, MOTs and tax discs plus invoices and one invoice in 2020 when she had a new clutch fitted.  Of course, she is tax-exempt, a great starter classic.  She may be viewed, strictly by appointment.
