Description:Auctioneer’s notes: We are delighted to be able to offer this unique Mini Cooper Sport 500. The lady vendor has owned this car since 2007 and has decided to give up driving. When the Mini Production came to an end they made a further 500 Minis built to the original Sir Alec Issigonis design, which were known as Mini Cooper Sport 500 and this car is No 115 out of 500 and the build date was 18.9.2000. She is finished in Tahiti Blue and only128 were made in this colour. All had black and nickel silver leather trim. You will also find in the glove box a plaque – see online still photograph. This beautiful car has a leather-bound service book and a Gov.UK MOT history from 2005. For the technically minded you have a 4 cylinder ohv with a capacity of 1275 cc producing 62 bhp giving a top speed of 94 miles per hour and 0 – 60 in 12.2 seconds. The engine drives through a 4-speed manual gear box and the final drive ratio is 3.67. To stop this car, you will find servo-assisted disc brakes on the front and drums on the rear and, of course, you have rack & pinion steering with a wheel at each corner you will experience the legendary Mini handling. Out of interest they only made these cars in 4 colours, solar red, anthracite, british racing green and Tahiti blue. In the file you will find (Appendix 1) a notification from the 500 Register confirming the authenticity of the car.
