Description:

On the Surface: This is 1959 Triumph TR3A finished in a very smart Navy Blue. As an original right-hand-drive vehicle first registered in Coventry, it maintains its authentic heritage. The car underwent a meticulous body-off rebuild between 1993 and 1994, a process well-documented in accompanying photos that can be found within the history file (or seen on the link below). The car retains its original steering configuration, including the steering wheel, horn, and indicator positions. Notably, it boasts factory-fitted overdrive, a rare and cherished feature. The vehicle’s classic appearance is complemented by a set of five Michelin X tyres, freshly fitted in 2019.

Maintenance: This TR3A has the later 2.2-litre engine specification with  new ‘Moss Europe’ cylinder heads, the engine received substantial attention, including a rebuild in 2017 with new shells, liners, and pistons. Further enhancements ensued with a new aluminum fuel tank and hood in the same year. A full tan leather interior, inclusive of door cards and carpets, was tastefully installed in 2012. Continuous care was shown with rebuilt carburetors featuring ‘Staydray’ parts and a new battery in 2020. The front suspension was extensively renewed by The Vendor with poly bushes, enhancing the driving experience.

History: Since acquisition in 2012, the Vendor has significantly invested in maintaining and enhancing this Triumph TR3A. Detailed historical invoices, inclusive of all expenditures during the Vendor’s ownership, paint a vivid picture of the dedication with which the car has been cared for.

The Model: The TR3 was introduced in 1955 which included a front grille and a more powerful engine than the TR2. The TR3 was restyled in 1957 the period of model that this example is and was available with a larger 2.2 litre engine the restyled car was unofficially known as the TR3A.
