Description:Description from The Vendor: I bought the Vitesse in early 2022 on Ebay from Southbourne Triumphs on the South coast near my home in Poole. it came into their possession in July 2021 when the previous owner, a Mr Holloway, brought it to them for a full restoration. He bought the car in 1998 and began restoration then stripping the car completely and had the body and chassis shot blasted, primed and repainted in original signal red. The suspension was rebuilt and reinstalled and the engine and gearbox were both rebuilt, the former having the head modified for unleaded fuel. I have a good file of the original bills to prove this story; however, work mysteriously stopped in 2001 and the car remained in his garage until 2021. When I acquired the vehicle a good deal of parts were missing and the engine was seized due to condensation build up over 21 years. I have now completed the restoration including new seats, door cards, carpets, hood, mostly stainless steel bolts and screws, dash and door cappings have been re-veneered with olivewood and lacquered, an engine strip and rebuild and includes many useful upgrades such as alloy wheels, a brake servo, oil cooler, electric fan, Lumenition ignition, alternator and halogen lights. The cost of parts, (for which I have all the receipts), is north of £4.5k and I estimate my time to be circa 1500 hours. The vehicle has overdrive but this was not factory original. It is a true convertible proven by the ‘C’ in the chassis number and the anti burst door locks. The odometer shows 88k but this is fairly academic as I can’t verify the speedometer to be the original. I have installed the original factory Motorola radio but it is not connected as the next owner might not want it. As the paint was done in 1998 it is not perfect however, it is very respectable and a treat to look at. The reason that I am selling is that I am moving to the Isle Of Wight and will probably do another restoration there. |
