Description:Description from The Vendor: I brought the car as a non-runner in 1999. I spent £750 to get it back on the road. I used it daily until I retired in 2007. Unfortunately the engine packed up and I started restoring it in 2011. Cool Campers found me an engine and they stripped it down and rebuilt it with new tin ware, heat tubes and heat exchangers at a cost of £1,224.24p. Below is a list of some other work that I have done to the Beetle:
Regrettably, the oddometer has stopped working so mileage is that of when it stopped.
Auctioneer’s notes: This little Beetle has been owned by the vendor for the past 14 years and during that time he has maintained and improved her at great cost. She is a very solid, rust-free Beetle but, in my opinion, the paintwork could have been more professionally carried out. She is fitted with a sports exhaust and sounds great. She is to be sold without reserve. You can use her as is but I think she deserves a proper respray. In the service file there is the original service book, 18 stamps, MOT’s back to ’98 and 2 manuals, one is “how to restore a VW Beetle” and the other is a Haynes Workshop Manual. She really is a great little car and may be viewed, strictly by appointment. |
