Description:1 of 7 cars from the Thornton Estate On the Surface: This is a 1990 Volvo 240 GLT, manufactured in 1990 and first registered in the UK in April 1991. Maintenance & History: This 240 GLT has had just three recorded owners during its time in the UK. The last registered keeper acquired the car in March 2003, and from around 2010/2011 it has since been part of a private collection. The comprehensive history file includes old MOT certificates and a service book boasting an impressive 23 stamps. The service record starts in 1992, with a mere 773 miles on the odometer and goes to 2010 with the last stamp being at 146,529 miles. This coupled with its long period of dry storage substantiates the mileage at 146,546 miles. The Model: Originally introduced in 1984, the Volvo 240 GLT (Grande Luxe Touring) was the range-topping model renowned for its features which include sports suspension, 6″ x 15″ 5 spoke alloy wheels, leather heated seats, a steel sliding sunroof, a model specific rear boot spoiler, black body trim, headlamp wipers, heated electric mirrors and uprated stereo and speakers. The GLT also had a lower stance from factory along with stiffer anti roll bars. The 240 GLT is powered by a 2.3 litre fuel injected 133 bhp engine. Sale Insight: This 240 stands as a well preserved example. Volvo’s are ever popular but this one is surely one to have when you take into account it’s spec and history. |
