Auctioneer’s notes: The vendor has owned this fantastic car for the past 52 years and in that time she competed in trials off and on as the vendor had other trialing cars. In 2001 she retired from trialing and was totally rebuilt – see photographs in the file, that rebuild cost £10,000. I have been through the massive file of invoices going back half a century and it amounts to an eye-watering amount, which only goes to show that she was well-loved and well looked after. Not only is she supercharged she has a 5-speed gearbox which makes it effortless cruising. The invoice for the gearbox amounted to £4036, that work was carried out in 2011. The file also holds old log books including the buff log book which was issued in 1963. She has old MOTs going back to the eighties and there are a number of tax discs. This seventy-year-old car will give the next custodian of her a lot of pure joy. She may be viewed, strictly by appointment. |
