This Triumph Mayflower presents an opportunity for enthusiasts of early post-war British motoring to get their hands on a rolling restoration project. Finished in Grey with Blue upholstery, it offers a solid basis for refurbishment and comes with a selection of parts to support the next owner’s restoration journey. With its distinctive razor-edge styling and compact proportions, the Mayflower is an intriguing and increasingly uncommon classic.
The car is offered as a rolling project and will require restorative work to return it to the road. Work to the cosmetics are to be expected, however the car does run, drive and stop as expected. Included in the sale is an assortment of parts to aid recommissioning, along with various items that will benefit the restorer in their work. Buyers are encouraged to inspect the vehicle in person to assess the full scope of the work required.
With the V5 showing six former keepers, this example was acquired by the Vendor’s late husband in 2017 and was in his custodianship until the car was put into The Vendor's name in October 2025. Alongside the car is a wealth of Triumph Mayflower Owners’ Club books and supplementary literature.
Built between 1949 and 1953 by the Standard Motor Company and sold under its Triumph marque, the Mayflower was conceived as a small but upmarket family saloon. Powered by a 1¼-litre engine and recognisable for its formal razor-edge lines, it made its debut at the 1949 British International Motor Show, with deliveries beginning mid-1950. Aimed at a niche that did not yet truly exist, the model struggled commercially making it rarer seen today.
Offered with plenty of parts and useful model-specific owner's club literature, this Mayflower represents an appealing project for anyone looking to revive a rare British classic.
