SWVA Auction Buyers Guide

Upcoming Auctions

Auction dates are listed on our website. The sale catalogue with vehicle listing and details can be viewed online, or you can collect a catalogue on auction day. Please note vehicles may be added to the sale list up to the day prior to auction.

Vehicle Inspection

Vehicles are available for inspection and viewing prior to auction. For general car auctions vehicles can be viewed the day before auction. For classics you can view vehicles throughout the week prior to auction.

Private Buyer Registration

All private buyers are required to pre-register before the sale starts. A £500 holding deposit is required to obtain a bidding number which makes you eligible to bid. This will be refunded to you in full if you do not place a bid. Please note CARD PAYMENTS ONLY. We do not accept cash. LiveBid is also available for general public during classic car auctions. Register now

Trade Registration

Once registered as a trader with us, you have the option to attend the auction in person and bid in the hall, or you can register with our LiveBid system which lets you access the auction live online. You can view the catalogue, watch, listen and bid online. Register now

Bidding

If you cannot attend the auction and are unable to bid remotely, you can leave a commission bid and we will bid on your behalf. Commission bidding requires a deposit authorisation and pre-bidding documentation will need to be completed. Telephone bidding is also available by pre-arrangement for trade accounts during general car auctions and commercial auctions, and for the general public during classic car auctions. Please call us to discuss setting up a telephone proxy bid prior to the day of sale.

ID

Buyers who do not have an account with us will be required to provide valid photographic ID. Photographic ID is also required when registering for a trade account.

Contracts

A legal contract is entered into once the hammer has fallen. Payments can be made by BANK TRANSFER ONLY and must be made within 48 hours of the sale, then you may take the vehicle away.

Non Collection Fee

Purchasers have 48 hours from the auction to pay and collect vehicles. Failure to collect within this period will incur a non-collection fee of £15.00 per vehicle per day. If you have any queries please speak to a member of the team.

Buyers Fee

Please note a buyers fee is payable in addition to the amount you successfully bid. The non refundable buyers fee indemnifies you against any vehicle purchased at SWVA being stolen property, or subject to outstanding hire purchase payments. The charges are available upon request from the office.

Sold as Seen

All vehicles are SOLD AS SEEN. It is your responsibility to assess the vehicle's condition and value before bidding. To help make the process even better, we use the NAMA vehicle grading system on all entries in our car and commercial auctions.

Trade Finance

Trade buyers have the option to register with our stock funding finance partners helping you to manage your cashflow, increase your stock, build sales volume and profit margins. Find out more here
