In Brief:

  • Tidy example of a Mk II MG B Roadster
  • Finished in Primrose Yellow over a Black leather interior
  • Owned by The Vendor's late husband since 2014
  • In storage for the last 3 years
  • Accompanied by great history file including MOT's back to 1989

Auctioneer’s Notes:

A tidy and appealing example of the ever-popular MG B Roadster, presented in the classic and eye-catching colour combination of Primrose Yellow over a Black leather interior with Red piping, complemented by a Black soft top. Offered as a bereavement sale, this well-loved MG has been in the ownership of The Vendor’s late husband for the past 12 years.

Maintenance & Condition:

The MG presents well for its age and has clearly benefited from careful long-term ownership. The car has been stored for the last three years and remains in tidy overall condition. As with any classic returning to regular use after a period of storage, light recommissioning and routine mechanical checks should be anticipated before extended road use.

History:

Accompanying the car is an impressive and comprehensive history file, including MOT certificates dating back as far as 1989, a selection of old tax discs, and a substantial quantity of invoices documenting expenditure throughout the vehicle’s life.

The Model:

The MG B Roadster was the first variant of the MGB range and set the template for one of Britain’s most successful sports cars. As a pure two-seater, it offered improved passenger comfort and luggage space over the earlier MGA. By the late 1960s, the Mk II model was released and it benefitted from notable updates, including revised gearboxes with synchromesh on all four gears, an alternator replacing the dynamo, and a switch to negative earth electrics.

Sale Insight:

A charming, well-presented chrome-bumper MG B Roadster with an excellent colour combination and a strong history file. With enduring popularity, excellent parts availability and wide club support, this example represents a highly attractive opportunity for both seasoned MG enthusiasts and those looking to enter classic sports-car ownership.

Estimate:
£3,500 - £4,500
