Auctioneer’s Notes:

An appealing restoration project comprising a Series III Morris Minor 1000, offered in classic Old English White over a Black interior. Retained by the current keeper since 2003 and now presented as a long-term laid-up example, this Minor is sold as a non-runner as part of a bereavement sale and represents a rewarding opportunity for an enthusiast seeking a full restoration project.

Maintenance & Condition:

The vehicle has been in storage for approximately 20 years and is sold strictly as a non-runner. As such, full restoration will be required prior to any return to the road, including attention to the engine, braking system, fuel system, electrics and suspension. Overall condition is untested and buyers are advised to view the car as a restoration proposition.

History:

Owned by the current keeper for over two decades, having been acquired in 2003. Accompanied by a small selection of historic MOT certificates, with the most recent issued in 2004 at a recorded mileage of 78,759 miles. No recent road use is known.

The Model:

The Morris Minor is one of Britain’s most significant post-war cars, produced by Morris Motors between 1948 and 1971 and designed under the leadership of Alec Issigonis. More than 1.6 million examples were manufactured, making it a cornerstone of British motoring history. Introduced in 1956, the Series III Minor brought a comprehensive programme of updates, including the adoption of the ‘Minor 1000’ name in reference to its 948cc BMC A-Series engine. These refinements improved performance and usability, increasing top speed to around 75 mph and significantly reducing acceleration times, helping the Minor remain competitive as car ownership expanded and motorway travel became more commonplace.

Sale Insight:

A long-term ownership Morris Minor 1000 offered in project condition, ideal for a restoration project. With excellent parts availability and strong club support this example offers a solid basis for a rewarding classic car rebuild.
