A decent, usable example of the ever-popular Triumph TR3A, offered in White over Black leather with Black wet-weather gear. This is a South African car and is NOT UK REGISTERED. As there is no information available regarding import duty, the vehicle is being sold as spares and repairs. The buyer is fully responsible for establishing any outstanding duty liabilities and the feasibility of UK registration.
The car presents as an honest example overall that is running and driving. Supplied with full wet-weather equipment, including side screens, hood frame and soft top. Interior trim is finished in Black leather and complements the exterior well. As with any classic of this age—particularly one offered under spares/repairs terms—inspection of the vehicle is recommended.
Originally supplied to the South African market, this example has not been registered in the UK. No documentation is available to confirm whether import duty has been paid. Consequently, the vehicle is offered strictly on a spares and repairs basis, with no guarantees regarding registration potential.
Produced between 1955 and 1962 by the Standard Motor Company, the Triumph TR3 was a development of the earlier TR2, offering increased power and improved braking. The updated 1957 specification—commonly referred to as the TR3A (though never officially badged as such)—introduced refinements that made it one of Britain’s most successful post-war sports cars. With its cut-down doors, exposed hinges and purposeful stance, the TR3A remains a raw and engaging roadster, later giving way to the Michelotti-styled TR4.
A compelling opportunity for an enthusiast, exporter or restorer seeking a characterful TR3A project or parts car. Subject entirely to the buyer’s own due diligence regarding import duty and registration.
