In Brief:

  • A smart and tidy 2004 Jaguar S-Type V6 SE Auto
  • Finshed in Metallic Blue over a contrasting tan leather interior
  • Strong supporting history file
  • Traditional and recognisable Jaguar styling

Auctioneer's Notes:

A smartly presented 2004 Jaguar S-Type V6 SE Auto, finished in metallic blue with a tan leather interior. The Vendor reports that the car drives superbly and has recently benefited from a replacement head gasket at a cost of approximately £1,400. With its traditional Jaguar styling, comfortable specification and extensive supporting maintenance record, this appears a well-cared-for example of the later S-Type.

Maintenance & Condition:

The history file contains numerous invoices documenting several thousands of pounds of expenditure, with much of the work carried out by Jaguar specialists. Records show regular major servicing together with attention to the braking system, replacement air-conditioning components, suspension arms and other ongoing maintenance. Most recently, the Vendor advises that the head gasket has been replaced at a cost of £1,400.

Of particular note, the instrument pack was replaced at 56,824 miles. Prospective purchasers should therefore take this replacement into consideration when interpreting the vehicle's displayed mileage and supporting records.

History:

A substantial collection of invoices accompanies the Jaguar, providing useful evidence of regular servicing and continued mechanical upkeep over the years. The original bookpack is also present and includes the owner's handbook, warranty booklet and audio system guide, complementing the extensive maintenance documentation.

The Model:

Introduced as Jaguar's executive sports saloon, the S-Type combined styling inspired by the marque's classic saloons with contemporary engineering and refinement. By 2004 the model had benefited from a series of significant updates, with the V6 versions offering rear-wheel drive, smooth six-cylinder performance and a six-speed automatic transmission. SE specification added an appropriately luxurious level of equipment, making the S-Type particularly well suited to comfortable long-distance touring.

Sale Insight:

Later S-Types are increasingly appreciated as affordable modern Jaguars, combining distinctive styling, a refined V6 drivetrain and traditional luxury. The depth of invoiced maintenance, substantial specialist expenditure and recent £1,400 head-gasket replacement are notable features of this example, while the documented instrument-pack replacement provides useful transparency within its history.
