Auctioneer's Notes:

A beautifully presented 1967 Morris Mini Cooper Saloon, offered for sale following an extensive restoration carried out over approximately the last three years. Finished in striking red with a contrasting black roof, the car presents extremely well throughout, complemented by period-style alloy wheels, bright chrome trim and a particularly attractive red and blue-grey interior. The Vendor is now offering the Mini for sale due to downsizing their vehicle storage.

Maintenance & Condition:

The Mini has been the subject of a comprehensive restoration and today presents in excellent condition both inside and out. The paintwork has a deep, bright finish, while the chrome, exterior trim and cabin have all been finished to a similarly smart standard. The history includes invoices relating to restorative work, including expenditure of £1,240 during 2022. Its current MOT is valid until June 2027 and was issued with no advisories.

History:

Accompanying the car is a smart black leather document folder bearing the British Motor Industry Heritage Trust name. Within are the invoice recording the Vendor's purchase of the Mini at auction in 2023 for £16,200, a selection of photographs showing the vehicle prior to restoration, a BMIHT technical data sheet, Certificate of Factory Record and a copyright archive photograph from the Trust. A selection of more recent MOT documentation is also included.

Prospective bidders should note that the MOT history records approximately 61,000 miles in 2018, followed by approximately 41,000 miles in 2025. The reason for this discrepancy is not known and consequently the currently displayed mileage should not be regarded as warranted.

The Model:

The Morris Mini Cooper combined Alec Issigonis' revolutionary transverse-engine, front-wheel-drive Mini design with performance development associated with John Cooper. By 1967, the Cooper had become firmly established as one of Britain's defining sporting small cars, with its lively 998cc A-Series engine, four-speed manual transmission, front disc brakes and famously agile handling giving considerably more sporting character than the standard Mini.

Its diminutive proportions, unmistakable shape and competition associations have made the Cooper one of the most recognisable British classics of the period, with genuine examples remaining particularly desirable today.

Sale Insight:

A particularly appealing example combining the character of the classic Mini Cooper with the benefit of substantial recent restoration. Its vibrant colour combination, beautifully presented interior and bright exterior detailing give the car considerable visual appeal, while the accompanying BMIHT documentation and photographic record of its pre-restoration condition add useful provenance.

With the restoration completed, a current advisory-free MOT and reported as fully ready for use, this is a fantastic little classic that can be enjoyed immediately.
