An extremely tidy and very low-mileage example of the R6-generation Rover 100, presented in Kensington trim and finished in the ever-popular Nightfire Red over a Grey cloth interior. With just 24,393 miles from new and only four former keepers, this charming Rover is in exceptional condition throughout—remarkably close to how it would have appeared when delivered 30 years ago. A rare opportunity to acquire a wonderfully preserved example of Rover’s later-era compact hatch.
The car presents superbly both inside and out, with the condition very much reflecting its low mileage and careful stewardship. Accompanying the vehicle is a strong history file that includes invoices for servicing and maintenance, MOT certificates, and the original Rover bookpack. The Service Record displays four handwritten entries, covering services carried out between 1996 at 575 miles and 2023 at 21,195 miles. Importantly, the cambelt was replaced at the most recent service in 2023—an excellent benefit for any prospective keeper.
Owned by The Vendor for the past year and showing just four former keepers, this Rover 100 has clearly led a gentle life. The included Rover bookpack contains the Dealership Directory, In-Car Entertainment Guide, Owner’s Handbook, and the Service Record, offering reassurance of its well-documented upkeep. The mileage is fully genuine and supported through the vehicle’s MOT and service history.
Introduced in December 1994, the revised R6 model marked the transition from the long-running Metro nameplate to the Rover 100 designation in the UK. While styling and branding were updated, the proven formula remained: lightweight construction, Hydragas suspension, and the lively and efficient 1.1 and 1.4 K-Series engines. This particular example is powered by the 1.1-litre K-Series SPI 8-valve inline-four. Today, surviving examples in this condition are increasingly rare.
Low-mileage Rover 100s are now gaining recognition as collectable modern classics and examples as clean and original as this are becoming ever harder to source. With under 25,000 miles, excellent presentation and a solid history file, this Kensington represents a superb entry-level classic.
