This includes the original Owner’s Handbook, a Workshop Manual, copies of The Sunbeam Talbot Alpine Register magazine, a selection of old MOT certificates, historic tax discs, the original buff logbook and a collection of period photographs showing the car in earlier years.
The Sunbeam-Talbot 90 was produced between 1948 and 1954 before evolving into the Sunbeam Mk III from 1954 to 1957, at which point the Talbot name was dropped and the model was marketed simply as the Sunbeam Mk III, with “Sunbeam Supreme” badging on the radiator shell. The Mk III introduced subtle styling changes including larger air intakes flanking the radiator grille and distinctive portholes beneath the bonnet line near the windscreen. Power was increased to around 80 bhp and overdrive became available as an option. Contemporary testing by The Motor magazine recorded a top speed of 93.6 mph and a 0–60 mph time of 17.4 seconds, respectable performance for a refined mid-1950s British saloon.
This Mk III represents a compelling opportunity to acquire a characterful and increasingly uncommon example of this post-war British classic.
