Maintenance & Condition:

Over the past 13 years more than £40,000 has been invested into the upkeep of the vehicle, reflecting a commitment to preserving both its condition and drivability. Recent works include new suspension components, a replacement differential, fuel pump, tyres and hoses, ensuring the car has benefitted from significant mechanical attention. As a result, this Silver Cloud presents as a well-maintained and impressive example of this iconic luxury saloon.

History:

This right-hand drive home market example was originally supplied to the UK before being exported overseas and later reimported into the UK in 2000, during which time it has had just one former keeper. Accompanying the vehicle is a comprehensive history file including the original Silver Cloud handbook, the original factory build sheet, receipts and invoices for parts, maintenance and servicing, along with a collection of MOT certificates documenting its life on the road.

The Model:

Produced between April 1955 and March 1966, the Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud served as the marque’s flagship luxury saloon and represented a major step forward in design and refinement. Styled by John P. Blatchley, it marked a clear departure from the pre-war aesthetic of earlier Rolls-Royce models. The Silver Cloud featured a body-on-frame construction, allowing for coachbuilt variants, though most examples were fitted with the elegant Pressed Steel Company body. Lightweight aluminium panels were used for the doors, bonnet and boot lid, helping reduce weight. Testing by The British Motor magazine recorded a top speed of 102.9 mph and 0–60 mph in 13.5 seconds.

Sale Insight:

This Silver Cloud I represents a superb opportunity to acquire one of Rolls-Royce’s most graceful post-war designs. With over £40,000 invested in recent years and long-term ownership, it stands as a particularly appealing example for enthusiasts seeking a distinguished and usable classic Rolls-Royce.
