A truly terrific time-warp example of Ford’s once-familiar family saloon, this Sierra Sapphire GLS is finished in Black over a well-preserved cloth interior. Presenting as though it has just rolled out of the showroom, this remarkable car shows no signs of wear or tear and has clearly benefited from decades of careful storage.

Maintenance & History:

Supplied new by Hendy Ford of Bournemouth in 1990, this Sierra has had just one owner from new, remaining with the same keeper for 35 years. After being used sparingly for its first seven years, it was driven home from its final service in 1997 and carefully dry stored in The Vendor’s garage for nearly three decades. It is accompanied by it's original handbooks, service documentation and a handful of invoices. This Sierra was last serviced in 1997 at 2,472 miles and has since covered just a further 15 miles, bringing the total to a warranted 2,487 miles from new. During its 28 years in storage, the car was raised off the ground to preserve its tyres and suspension. The original service book remains with the vehicle and displays eight service stamps between 1990 (at 146 miles) and 1997 (at 2,472 miles), confirming maintenance during its early years.

The Model:

The Sierra Sapphire, introduced in the late 1980s, was Ford’s saloon evolution of the popular Sierra range, combining the model’s aerodynamic styling with a more refined, practical four-door layout. In GLS trim, it offered a higher specification, improved comfort and more equipment, making it a desirable model both then and now. Once a common sight on UK roads, few examples survive today — and even fewer in such untouched, original condition.
