The Model:

Introduced to the public in 1971, the Type 74 Europa Twin Cam brought the 1,558cc Lotus-Ford Twin Cam engine to the Europa range, producing around 105bhp in standard form. The model also benefitted from a redesigned bodyshell intended to improve rearward visibility, while retaining the Europa’s famously low, aerodynamic shape and mid-engined balance. Early Twin Cams used the gearbox carried over from previous Europa models, before the stronger Renault Type 352 four-speed gearbox was introduced in 1972 once earlier supplies had been exhausted. In total, 4,710 Type 74 Europas were produced.
