In Brief:

  • An honest example of a rarer seen Mk II Rover P5 Coupé
  • Finished in Burgundy with a Grey roof over a Grey leather interior
  • Owned by The Vendor for the last 14 years
  • 3 litre straight six example with manual gearbox

On the Surface:

An honest example of the rarely seen Mk II Rover P5 Coupé, this car is finished in Burgundy with a Grey roof over a Grey leather interior. The presentation is tidy and genuine, showing use consistent with age but offering scope for improvement.

Maintenance & History:

Owned by The Vendor for the past 14 years, this P5 has been cherished as a local show car rather than a daily driver. The decision to part with it comes due to recent lifestyle changes, providing the next custodian with an opportunity to take on a solid, useable example.

The Model:

Produced between 1958 and 1973, the Rover P5 series represented the marque’s move into a more refined and executive class of motoring. The Mk II Coupé, introduced in 1962, retained four doors but featured a lowered roofline (2.5 inches lower than the saloon), slimmer pillars and Hydrosteer power-assisted steering as standard which was an option on the saloon. Only 5,482 coupés were produced before Mk II production ended in 1965, making this a comparatively rare variant. Powered by the 3.0-litre inline-six, this example’s manual gearbox adds further rarity.

Sale Insight:

A charming and honest Mk II 3.0-litre manual Coupé, offered from 14 years of ownership. This Rover represents an excellent entry point into classic mid century British motoring.

Estimate:
£4,000 - £5,000
