A handsome and well-specified example of the C216-generation Mercedes-Benz CL 500, finished in Black over a Beige leather interior and enhanced by the desirable AMG Sports Pack. Offered reluctantly due to ill health, this luxury coupé has been in the current ownership for the last nine years and benefits from just two former keepers.

Maintenance & Condition:

Following a period of storage, this CL 500 has recently been recommissioned. This has included new brake discs and the wheels being shot-blasted and powder-coated, with around £2,000 spent to ensure the car is returned to good usable condition. It now presents as a smart and well-cared-for example, combining Mercedes-Benz luxury with AMG-inspired presence.

History:

Supplied new by Jacksons Mercedes as an ex-demonstrator to a local businessman, the car remained in his ownership until 2017 before passing to the current keeper. When new, the CL carried a base price of £92,500 and this example was specified with virtually every available option, including the AMG Sports Pack. The accompanying history file includes a Mercedes service printout showing four services between 2011 at 13,887 miles and 2015 at 61,553 miles, along with MOT certificates and a selection of supporting invoices.

The Model:

Launched in 2006, the C216 CL-Class represented the pinnacle of Mercedes-Benz coupé design and engineering, retaining the pillarless side-window styling that had defined the model since its inception. The CL 500 is powered by a 5.5-litre V8 producing 382 bhp, driving the rear wheels through a 7-speed automatic gearbox. Performance is strong, with 0–60 mph in around 5.3 seconds and an electronically limited top speed of 155 mph.
