The Model:

Launched in August 1989, the M100 Lotus Elan marked the revival of the iconic Elan nameplate after a 14-year hiatus. Unlike its rear-wheel drive predecessor, the M100 featured a front-wheel drive layout, powered by a turbocharged 1.6-litre DOHC inline-four engine sourced from Isuzu, delivering 165 BHP through a 5-speed manual gearbox which was also sourced from Isuzu. Developed under General Motors ownership, it boasted a fibreglass composite body over a steel backbone chassis – a signature Lotus approach to performance through lightweight engineering. The SE Turbo is capable of 0–60 mph in just 6.7 seconds with a top speed of 136 mph.
