A tidy example of the ever-popular Morris Minor 1000 Series III, this 1969 four-door saloon is finished in Trafalgar Blue, complemented by a Light Blue interior. An appealing example of one of Britain’s most recognisable classics.
Affectionately known by The Vendor as ‘Boris the Morris’, this charming Minor has been in their care for the past 13 years. It comes accompanied by an excellent and comprehensive history file, including a full technical log detailing all work completed during The Vendor’s ownership, numerous MOT certificates, a Haynes Workshop Manual and a substantial collection of invoices for parts, servicing and maintenance — many from Charles Ware’s. The car has recently been fitted with a new set of tyres.
The Series III Morris Minor 1000, introduced in 1956, represented the final and most refined development of Alec Issigonis’ design. It featured the larger 948cc A-Series engine, later upgraded to 1098cc, which delivered improved performance and smoother running compared with earlier models. The gearbox gained a more modern feel, while the car’s styling was updated with a one-piece curved windscreen, larger rear window and flashing indicators replacing the earlier semaphore arms. Comfort and practicality were also enhanced, with improved interior trim and better heating — making the Minor 1000 an exceptionally usable small car for its time.
With 13 years of careful ownership and a strong history file, ‘Boris the Morris’ stands as a delightful and usable example of this iconic British saloon. We are sure it will appeal equally to first-time classic buyers and long-standing enthusiasts.
