On the Surface:

A tidy and usable example of the desirable Mk2 W20 Toyota MR2, this car presents smartly in Red with a cloth interior.

Maintenance & History:

Built in 1992 and imported into the UK in 2003, this MR2 has been owned by The Vendor for the past year. During this time, it has reportedly benefitted from the restorative works including the fitment of a new starter motor, new brake pads and discs, new brake cables, refurbished wheels, and a full service. While there is no supporting paperwork on file to substantiate this work, the car presents well and appears to have been maintained to a good standard.

The Model:

The second-generation MR2 (SW20), introduced in 1989, marked a significant evolution from its predecessor. Larger and more refined, it offered a more spacious cabin, enhanced suspension, and more powerful engine options. The revised design—with its sleek, aerodynamic lines—earned the MR2 comparisons to Ferrari’s 308 and 348 models, leading enthusiasts to affectionately dub it the “baby Ferrari” or haters the "poor man's Ferrari". Toyota worked closely with professional drivers, including Dan Gurney, to fine-tune its handling, resulting in a car renowned for its balance, agility and driver engagement.

Sale Insight:

A well-presented and mechanically refreshed Mk2 MR2, this example offers the opportunity to enjoy one of Toyota’s most characterful sports cars at an accessible level.

Estimate:
£2,250 - £3,250
