We aim to send out all our valuations within 24 hours (at weekends, valuation will be sent on the Monday).
To help make the process even better, we use the NAMA vehicle grading system on all entries in our car and commercial auctions.
How it works
- If you are happy with the valuation and wish to proceed in selling your car at auction the team at SWVA will take you through the registering process and confirm you are entitled to sell the vehicle. You will also need to provide valid photographic ID (passport/diving licence).
- We will need to inspect the vehicle and photograph for the auction catalogue. You can arrange to bring your car to our premises, or we can arrange collection at a small fee.
- Remove all personal belongings and make sure the car is clean and tidy. Bring all available documentation (V5C logbook/MOT/spare keys/service history etc.)
- The team will discuss whether you wish to set a reserve and will advise you on what this should be. If your car is unsold, it will be entered into the next available sale unless you inform us otherwise.
- Sellers fees: You pay a single fixed entry fee per vehicle. Fee not payable if vehicle remains unsold.
- Used car sales
- Vehicles sold under £1000 (£50 plus VAT)
- Vehicles sold over £1000 (£100 plus VAT)
- Classic auctions
- Classic car auctions 6% of the total purchase price (VAT is added to fee element only)
- Outstanding H.P: If the vehicle you wish to sell is subject to outstanding hire purchase/finance payments, SWVA will oversee the necessary paperwork for you. Simply give us a copy of the settlement quotation and the agreement number and we will settle the account from the proceeds of the sale and forward the balance to you. There is a charge for this settlement service, please enquire at the office.
- Payment into your account: Subject to all documents being in order, SWVA will transfer the funds into your bank account within 8 working days from the date of sale. We do not conduct any cash transactions.
